Vakantiehuis in Alcaria Ruiva

The nature cottage is located in the south of Portugal, Alentejo, between the Castro Verde IBA Biosphere Reserve and the Guadiana Valley Natural Park and only 18 km from the beautiful historic town of Mértola, whose roots date back to classical antiquity. We are committed to sustainable tourism, nature conservation and agroforestry. The three rooms available for accommodation were originally barns. The buildings were restored preserving the walls of rammed earth (taipa), the traditional technique in the Alentejo, and adding a bathroom in each room. In the case of the Celeiro Grande (large barn), the room is 25 m2 and the bathroom (with shower) is 9 m2. The wood oven house was converted into a small auxiliary kitchen for guests. There is a small pool and an outdoor area where you can lounge and have your meals. In the yard there is a native hedge, several fruit trees and lots of herbs. This natural cottage is registered as local accommodation.
